5 Methods For Reviving Your Passion For Life

If you love life, life will love you right back - Arthur Rubinstein

Think about it for a second - just like our relationships with friends or family - we have a relationship with our life as well. Somedays this relationship is better than some other days. There are moments that we are filled with curiosity, passion and excitement about this part of our journey, and other times, life gets rocky and all of a sudden we question everything about that part of our journey. And just like any other relationship we need to put in an effort and work, if we want it to be a supportive and fulfilling relationship.

I would like to share my 5 essential tools that has helped me in the past to reignite the spark with my relationship with life and fall in love with life again!

FACE YOUR FEARS

At some point in our lives, whether we like it or not, we are going to find ourselves face to face with fears. See that’s the thing about fear - we need it! It guides us to all the place we are trying hard to avoid. I believe that when we face our fears and grow from it, we are more fully alive.

FIND THE MAGIC IN SELF CARE

I pushed myself into adrenal fatigue, chronic fatigue…and ultimately AD.  Looking back, it’s no surprise at all that I ended up needing to sleep for 16+ hours a day. I acted as if I was indestructible, and completely ignored my body’s screams for rest until I was forced to listen. I discovered certain little daily routines that helped me feel inspired and uplifted, like:

  • Meditation

  • Yoga

  • Rest when I need it

  • Listening to inspiring Podcasts

  • Listening to my favourite music

I see it as making quality time for myself.

STAY CURIOUS

As life throws us challenges and we find ourselves in dark spaces at times, our curiosity often dwindles. We start to focus on worries, problems and fears instead of having that childlike sense of wonder. What are you curious about and want to learn more about? Cultivating a sense of curiosity can bring much needed happiness, new discoveries and meaning into our lives.

BE GRATEFUL

In any situation, we have a choice to dwell on what’s missing and what we don’t like, or we have a choice to choose to cultivate an attitude of gratitude. The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is focus on what I am grateful for, like the ability to move my body, my sight and hearing? What else are you taking for granted in your life? When we start to appreciate what we have, we shift our perspective. Make time to focus on what you are grateful for.

FORGIVE

Gandhi believed that the weak can never forgive. Why? Because forgiveness takes strength. It takes effort. Forgiveness can be more painful and tiresome than the wound itself. And the ultimate test often comes when we not only forgive others but go one step further and forgive ourselves.

Fall in love with your life lovelies, the light and the dark, for the dark will make you appreciate the good days so much more. Celebrate every moment you are given here on earth!
